Fortunately, there are some activities you can do every day to make your skin less prone to flare-ups. Here are five strategies to help you start controlling your acne now.

1. Exercise – Staying in shape can help treat acne by combating negative stress levels caused by low self-esteem and sadness. However, some precautions must be taken to avoid acne caused by your fitness regimens. Keep an eye on what you place on your body in terms of clothing, sports gear, and equipment.

Tight lycra and nylon workout suits, for example, may look wonderful in the films and on magazine models, but if you are prone to acne, avoid these synthetic fabrics, which tend to trap in body moisture and heat, resulting in a bacteria frenzy. Choose loose garments made from cotton or natural mixes instead to enable more air to reach your skin.

When you end your workout, change out of damp clothing from sweat or water sports. Shower and put on dry, clean clothes. Maintain the cleanliness of your athletic apparel and equipment as well. Acne-prone areas on the forehead, for example, may be aggravated by dirty headwear. So, after your workout, toss your headbands in the washer..

2. Cosmetics – Use noncomedogenic or oil-free cosmetics to prevent porous and skin skin irritation that are similar to acne and can lead to acne. Shimmering face paints may include mica, a flaky mineral that can irritate the skin and clog pores. Coal tar compounds, carmine, and heavy cream in blushes are other colouring ingredients that might induce comparable responses.

Greater preventative methods include wearing a lip gloss with a matte finish rather than a high gloss for reduced pore-clogging; keep in mind that the more shine, the more clogging pores content and the more the pores might clog. Be aware that eye creams may include higher concentrations of moisturizing than conventional creams, which means they may clog pores in the eyes.

3. Diet – Studies demonstrate that diet has no effect on the aetiology or treatment of acne. What is advised for acne prevention is this: what is best for your health is best for your skin, especially because your skin is your body’s greatest organ. So keep an eye on your diet and take healthy vitamins, minerals, and other supplements. This will aid in the prevention and treatment of acne breakouts.

4. Hygiene – A good skin regimen should not include hard scrubbing or excessive washing, as they can cause skin irritation or overproduction of oil to restore what has been rinsed off, blocking pores in the process. Use products with mild exfoliating components, rather than harsh nut or fruit shell fragments that might irritate skin. When possible, avoid using alcohol-based products, which can remove the top layers of skin and encourage your glands to produce extra oil, blocking pores.

If you find acne-prone regions, don’t touch them. Remember that lesions have been developing for weeks, and pinching or picking blemishes might cause the infected area to retreat back inside, causing extra discomfort and perhaps leaving a scar. Seek the advice of a dermatologist if other therapies are required.

5. Shaving – For both genders, shaving is a good technique of exfoliating or clearing dead tissue to aid in the avoidance and spread of acne rather than allowing the leftovers to clog pores. Shaving can also help remove whiteheads and pimples from the face if you have mild acne. A word of caution: do not shave in regions with infections or excessive irritating activity (redness, sensitivity, open acne, ulcers, etc.). Alternatively, use a shaving foam for sensitive skin!
